Artist statement

As a moderately quiet person I find that expressing myself through my art allows me to be more vocal. I often exercise my passion for drawing through the human form. A part of this passion is to create new and original images. The medium and materials are also important challenges for the inspiration and the outcome of the work. I have always been interested in fine arts and creating new and interesting pieces that I can be proud of. No matter what, creating something new and original will forever be my passion.   

Drawing seems to be the medium that captivates me the most. I do like to work with various materials but I feel like drawing provides a challenge that pushes me to be personal, realistic, and inventive. As many other artists, I like to see my art as very unique and I hope others interpret my creations in their own way and become inspired themselves.

My series will be a combination of my life drawings transferred into a large scale image and then embellish them with close ups of specific images of my friends posing. I will be creating these on raw canvas. My challenge to myself is to use a variety of both wet and dry mediums i.e. ink, graphite, pastels, charcoal, etc. They will be approximately 3 X 4 feet. I plan to finish 6 by the end of the semester for final grading.
